Lessons from the Count of Monte Cristo

All of us will have cause to be aggrieved at some point in our lives. It is not through hate nor retribution that we will calm the tempest that rages in our hearts. It is through patience amd forgiveness. Sometimes it is necessary to suffer so that we may know and appreciate that which we take for granted. For it is often the things we take for granted that are the most important. There is then, blessing in adversity so do not lose hope. It is hope that sustains and nourishes the soul.

Quote of the Day: Churchill, Falsehood and Truth

A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. (Winston Churchill)

This has become even more true in the age of social media – which is word of mouth on steroids.

We need to make sure we are careful about verifying information we share as fact.

Misinformation is deception.

Lies ruin lives.

Give truth a chance to get its pants on!

Ode to an iPhone

The Daily Travesty

You tell me how much time I waste
And predict my musical taste.
You hold my apps. My photos too.
Where would “i” be without you.

You give me guidance when I’m lost.
You’re worth my monthly data cost.
When I’m lonely on the road
I swipe to wake you and enter my code

And there I am! Right back at home.
In a pinch, you’re a mirror for my comb.
You light the darkness, check my mail,
Encourage me to “play again” when I fail.

You’ll be with me night and day.
To all your thoughts I’ll click OK.
So phone of mine, I cannot lie:
You are the Apple of my “i.”
